I created this Sale Data Analysis Report using Excel and PowerBI as a Data Analyst Intern at MeriSKILL
This report gives a good overview of the company sales performance and also identifies areas for improvement and adjustment needed to move the business to the next level.
Key Insight
◽️The firm has 19 products in the market, Total of 209,000 products were sold during this period (2019)
Total of $34.49m was generated as revenue
◽️The MacBook laptop has the highest sales with a 23% while AAA batteries (4-pack) has the lowest sales record
◽️AAA batteries top as the product the highest quantity ordered but still rank last when it comes to revenue generated
◽️Most sales were made at San Francisco, Austin has the lowest sales recorded among the 9 cities.
December played out to be the month with most sales $4.6m followed by October
◽️The frist month of the year January has the lowest sales recorded standing at $1.8m
◽️The 4th Quarter of the year contributed most sales followed by 2nd Quarter.
Recommendation
▫️Considering the performance of Macbook Pro Laptop on the market level and it high contribution in revenue, also with the fact that its being followed by iphone, a product from the same firm Apple, the company should consider introducing complementary products or other accessories from Apple that can be bundled with Macbook Pro Laptop and iphone sales to further increase sales.
▫️The company should also look at the reason why AAA Batteries(4-pack) despite having the highest number of orders, still has the lowest revenue among other products.
▫️The company should evaluate the marketing strategies in cities like Austin which have low sales and also continue to build on its market presence in San Francisco.
▫️Ensure the availability of all product during the Quarter 4 of the year as those period generate more income compare to other Quarter of the year, Well planned and better sales awareness at the 1st Quarter of the year to encourage people buy more.
▫️Similarily with December being rated first as the month with the most sales, introducing sales promotions and special deal to encourage customer activities should also be consider.
